The game

The Candidate is a political thriller. You take the role of a campaign coordinator, a novice in the political world after quitting his previous job. Manage campaign decisions and deal with scandals that threaten the candidacy to achieve the ultimate goal: winning the election.

It won't be easy, everyone has a past to hide and there are forces in the shadows that will use any means to get their way. The role of the media, always hungry for impactful content, can be crucial. You can either use them or be a victim of their headlines.

Notes about the SFW version

This is a version of The Candidate without the explicit sexual content. I always thought that the dating sim mechanics and explicit content got in the way rather than helping the story and gameplay. My original intention was to put an option to filter that content in the game, but it ended up being so intertwined that it was very difficult to isolate it through code.

In this version, I hope, the story flows better, even at the cost of missing some details about the characters or complementary stories. It still deals with adult themes such as polítical corruption or violence, there is some partial nudity of a non-sexual nature, flirting is still possible (without consequences), and there are mentions of sexual encounters. It's not for kids, but I don't think it falls under a +18 rating either.
